Term 2 2025 Newsletter

It’s been a very busy Term 2 at RC Performing Arts this year. With our annual show coming up in April, we have been busy starting show dances, ordering costumes and also prepping for the Dance:Compete:Achieve competition in February. We have also been practicing our ISTD exam work in Ballet and Tap ready for summer exams.

Our Acro classes have been busy learning new skills, partner work and doing tricks and group lifts in our senior class. The students are super excited to start show work and cant wait to perform in April.

Our performance class students have been working hard preparing their lyrical group dance for February’s competition in Aberdeen. They have learned their routine and are now in the process of ‘cleaning.’ This means we go over sections of the dance multiple times until everyone has the right counts and looks in unison.

Our competition soloists had private lessons within the October holidays and each week have been practicing at home and ensuring their dances are up to a great standard. Costumes have been ordered and we cant wait to put everything together.

Report cards for each student P1+ will start to go out this week at dancing and into our final week of term next week! We hope that parents will enjoy reading a little something positive their child has achieved and something to work on at home for improvements.

We have our Christmas movie night and Christmas Parties coming up on Thursday 18th and Saturday 20th December this year, which we cant wait for. It’s a nice time to celebrate after a term of hard work.

We hope everyone has a lovely Christmas holidays and enjoys spending time with friends and family. We cant wait to see you all back in Term 3 for more hard work and SHOW TERM!! Woo!
