Term 1 2026/2027
We have had a fantastic first term back at RC Performing Arts this year! It has been the busiest first term back ever! We had competition team rehearsals all through the summer holidays this year and we jumped straight into Dance:Compete:Achieve (DCA) in September. It was a brilliant weekend and the girls danced amazingly and took home some fabulous medals and trophies. We were even awarded the Kindness Award as a school and so I’m so proud of the girls for behaving in such a supportive way to all of the competitors. We had a really great meal at Pizza Express to celebrate afterwards.
We are so pleased to share that Miss Meg gave birth to a beautiful daughter Francesca this term! She came a little earlier than expected so Miss Meg didn’t get much rest after finishing up her classes with us before she arrived. But we hope that Miss Meg is enjoying her maternity leave and all the baby cuddles with gorgeous Francesca!
With Miss Meg on maternity leave, I have enjoyed taking over the ballet classes for this term. Preparing the exam girls for their pre-primary, primary and Grade 2 exams has been great fun alongside starting some RAD ballet with our other classes on a Saturday & Thursday night.
We also quickly jumped into rehearsals for Aberdeen Arts Centre’s Big Variety show on October 3rd! We were asked to perform some dances for their Saturday night show. We performed the juniors ballet ‘Ocean,’ the minis tap ‘Red,’ and we joined the minis and babies together for a big Spice Girls number. It was so much fun to dance in front of the video wall and we had a blast joining other schools and groups in Aberdeen.
We are now heading into our final week of the term & have our parent display week. We are so excited to welcome the parents into classes to see what their children have been working hard learning all term.
Enjoy the October holidays everyone!!
Miss Becca x
